Knowing ourselves as water

To know our dimensional self and nature is also to know ourselves as water, something I’ve written of often here. I came across this video today, on the Colorado River, which vividly describes the state of our current relationship with water. For all water and river lovers…this is a must watch.

It is well worth the time to let the experience and knowledge embedded in the video into your being.

And here is a “Thank You!”, to The Elephant Journal (with photos) and Living Green Magazine for bringing it to my attention.

“After flowing to meet the Gulf for six million years, the Colorado River no longer reaches its delta. It hasn’t since 1998.  The veins are drying up, and it’s leaving a strong battle in its wake.”

Happy Birthday, Larry. And thank you for the gift of this footage, for furthering the conversation about the fragile state of the southern Colorado River. Watching this has heightened our sensitivity to the impact we are having by living in the southwestern United States. Is there a way that the populous communities of humans living around the Colorado River region can live in harmony with one another and the land while contributing to the resiliency of our biosphere?

Thanks for the birthday wishes Juliana… and your question is so…poignant. I see no way through our current environmental or social crisis other than the re-imagination of what it is to be human. This will involve a sinking into the questions of, Who or what am I?, and of, What is a self?
