I certainly see no harm in using statistics to try and jolt someone into that sense of awe. I've always hated light pollution, and have known the night sky.
But don't we also have to ask the question: why?
Why the disconnect?
We are all scurrying around, missing everything, as we know. So - puzzle: psychologically, why is it always easier to accelerate than to decelerate? Why do we find it easy to hit the caffeine and speed up, and hard to come of the hyper- high and slow up?

I have my view.... you?
